Life Saving Humanitarian Assistance to Vulnerable Populations in Syria

Due to the ongoing crisis and the high level of need for vulnerable populations in Damascus and Rural Damascus, ICMC proposes to provide vital humanitarian assistance to Syrian IDPs and host community members in these targeted areas. The program will provide assistance across four complementary sectors: Health, Nutrition, Logistics Support and Relief Commodities, and Shelter and Settlements. More specifically, reproductive health care services and a community health education program will be supported. In addition, infant and young child exclusive breastfeeding will be encouraged through individual or group counselling sessions. Vulnerable households will receive cash-based vouchers to obtain essential non-food items, or will receive cash-for-rent assistance to pay for up to six months of rent directly to landlords.
