Capacity Building & Community Organizing in Palau and Micronesia
To build the capacity of remote villages in Palau and the Federated States of Micronesia about the risks and need for response planning to address climate change impacts.
This grant request will help remote coastal communities in Palau and Yap in the Federated States of Micronesia to better understand and prepare against the impacts of climate change. These communities in Palau and Micronesia are experiencing climate change impacts that threaten their homes, food security, culture, livelihoods and their future. With this grant, we plan to work with these communities to help them organize themselves so that they can understand climate change and its impacts, better prepare themselves against its hazards and to voice their concerns and needs to their governments and the international community including accessing technical and financial resources.
