The Beautiful Resistance Initiative

To undermine patterns of hatred and xenopobia that perpetuate structural violence through transformational conversation, peacebuilding, and advocacy.

Additional information

The Beautiful Resistance Project will work in 3 key areas; community workshops, participatory video and organizing/social justice activism. The grant request will cover 10 community workshops in Orange County, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay area, New York, Boston, and the greater DC area. Workshops are participatory and build participant capacity in non violent communications, active listening, conflict transformation, anti-oppression training, implicit bias training, active bystander training, cooperation and community building. Participatory Video for Mothers of the Movement will convene 15 mothers that have had children killed by law enforcement and together create a video for advocacy and to move from healing-hope to action. Lastly the project will activate and support local communities in the Greater Los Angeles area to combat xenophonia, hate, islamaphobia and fear.
