Emergency relief and assistance for conflict-affected populations, Borno
ACF began delivering health services in Borno in 2016, and scaled up its operations to Monguno following the state government's declaration of a nutritional state of emergency in Borno. Following this declaration, ACF has been providing emergency food assistance and WASH programming to over 4,000 households in Monguno, and will continue to provide assistance to these families in 2017. Along with this, ACF is also providing support to vulnerable populations through income generating activities, micro-gardening, business training, and cooking demonstrations to improve livelihoods and increase food consumption for vulnerable households. ACF is currently implementing a year-long SIDA funded project ‘Emergency Assistance for Affected Populations in Borno State’ that aims to improve nutrition security among vulnerable populations of MMC and Jere through integrated of nutrition and livelihoods interventions. ACF also implemented an emergency project in Monguno, funded by Sida from Aug – Nov 2016, which aimed to meet immediate food needs of IDPs.
