Integrated humanitarian response in Borno and Yobe
Action Against Hunger aims to reach a total of 45.800 individuals (IDPs, hosts and returnees) to improve the nutrition and health status of these individuals along with provision of sufficient WASH services. These services would be provided in four LGAs, with two in Borno and two in Yobe. The LGAs to be targeted in Borno include Gubio and Mobbar and the LGAs in Yobe include Geidam and Yunusari. These LGAs and subsequent response activities have been prioritized based on needs assessments conducted by Action Against Hunger in the area, analysis of secondary data, gap in the provision of services, coordination with and presence of other humanitarian organizations, and the feedback of the community. These services will be provided on a needs basis and targeted to the most vulnerable individuals among the displaced, returnees and host communities. This integrated multi-sectoral action is going to follow a participatory and community-focused approach, to ensure that the beneficiaries are involved in the project design and implementation from day one and that their resilience is built to future disasters and emergencies.
