WASH and Shelter Initiatives (WASI)
Through the WASH and Shelter Initiatives (WASI) program, ADRA will build on its previous experience and lessons learned through the Initiatives for Transitional Assistance for Shelter program funded in Rural Damascus by OFDA. The program will provide 3,000 IDPs in Rural Damascus region with adequate, safe shelter solutions (aligned with the OFDA Shelter Sector) accompanied by adequate sanitation and access to safe water (OFDA WASH Sector with Sanitation Infrastructure and Water Supply Infrastructure Sub-Sectors). ADRA will primarily use a private shelter upgrade approach to house IDP individuals, households and families.
Public water tanks in areas where there are no wells / water sources, Pumps, generators / solar panels and water tanks to support existing wells, Household level water tanks in areas that are connected to the main water networks, Provision of pumps and generators for the water stations, Repair of the water station buildings, Emergency shelter, Shelter Upgrade
