Typhoon Haima Disaster Response

In October 2016 Typhoon Haima made landfall on the Philippines Islands. Flooding and strong winds left thousands of homes and businesses severely damaged. Giving Children Hope has sent 5 containers to the Philippines to aid with the recovery after the typhoon. Food, medical supplies, medical equipment, and books have been sent. Through the Adventist Hospital in Santiago City food will be distributed to families as they rebuild their homes to help alleviate the financial burden on the families. Many are now homeless and are taking shelter under bridges and make-shift homes until they can recover. A clinic with medical supplies and equipment will host free check-ups for families in the area who are facing exposure to the elements and unsanitary conditions as clean-up of the area slowly persists.
