Thailand Floods - Disaster Response

Since the beginning of the year continuous heavy rain has caused widespread flooding in several southern provinces of Thailand. Over 1.1 million people and hundreds of thousands of animals are impacted. The main issues affecting animals in flooded areas are the lack of adequate and nutritious food, clean water and having to stand in the water for too long, which can cause respiratory problems and skin lesions.

World Animal Protection will be providing emergency food for 34,000 animals in the evacuation camps, and vet kits for 45,000 large and small ruminants (goats, sheep, etc.) in the five worst affected districts. Our efforts will benefit 37,000 families.
