Film to Influence Discourse on Child Marriage

To influence the discourse on early/child marriage through a documentary film on the life of Ganeshi, a 'child bride' in rural Rajasthan. This grant will support Streamline Stories in completing an ethnographic film and producing short films using visual research methods on Ganeshi, a teenager who was married by her parents at the age of five but has been living with her parents to complete her schooling as per custom. The film explores a critical period in Ganeshi's life when she is finishing school and turning 18, and her struggles against community norms to chart out a different future for herself through negotiations with her natal and marital family to complete her education and get a job before moving to live with her husband.
