Aid to Syrian Refugees in Jordan

Tzu Chi linked with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization and Al-Takafu Charity Organization, have, with the help and coordination of the 2 stated organizations distributed the following materials to Syrian refugee families in Jordan 2013: Food and Non-Food Items: over 180,000 items of winter clothing 42,252 kilograms of daily necessities and food cans (12 kg per family) Late December 2016, Tzu Chi volunteers from Taiwan, United States, and Jordan, along with local volunteers and international students embarked on a 10-day trip to Jordan to hold five free clinics and four distributions of food and non-food items. Items were distributed to refugees outside the Zaatari refugee camp and inside the Azraq refugee camp. The free clinics were held in refugee camps and in locations within the Jordan Valley. With the help of international students translation from Arabic to English was used successfully to better help more refugees. Winter jackets and school supplies helped benefit school children in need. In total distributions reached 3238 families, helped over 1882 students, and 1037 refugees received medical attention.
