Lutheran World Relief

Lutheran World Relief (LWR) is an international non-profit organization that works with local partners in 32 countries to provide lasting solutions to poverty, injustice and human suffering. Our staff and partners in the countries where we work know the local languages, traditions and customs necessary to provide appropriate solutions. And they have access to the knowledge and expertise of their colleagues in other countries around the world. LWR promotes sustainable development and responds to disasters by helping communities bring about change for healthy, safe and secure lives. LWR works to attack the root causes of poverty and break the cycles that keep people from being healthy, productive and self-supporting.
