Healey International Relief Foundation

Founded in 2001, the Healey International Relief Foundation is a 501(c)3 public charity established to improve the quality of life of vulnerable individuals and families in Sierra Leone who have long been affected by war and adverse socio-economic conditions. Through the delivery of healthcare services, clean water, food, and educational training, the Healey International Relief Foundation embraces their needs, invests in their future and increases the capacity of communities to become self-sustaining. The Foundation seeks to bring hope and empowerment to those in Sierra Leone who are impoverished, hungry and hurting. The Foundation can easily credit our project successes to effective partnerships. The implementation, development and sustainability are reliant upon the relationships formed with local communities in Sierra Leone and like-minded NGO’s. Solid alliances allow us to develop methods of problem solving, which are supported by communities we work in, thus developing a bright future. It’s about immersing oneself and understanding the culture you are working with. Our core belief system is providing a “hand-up, not a “hand-out” to our project beneficiaries.
